MEPs: make a pledge to support Fair Trade

European Parliament candidates should make a pledge to breach the gap between European policies and citizens´ and support Fair Trade.fair tradeOn the occasion of Europe’s Day and World Fair Trade Day falling on 9 May, the Fair Trade movement calls on the European Union to narrow the gap between its policies and EU citizens´ support for Fair Trade.

8 May 2009 – Brussels:

In the context of the Pledge for Fair Trade campaign, a growing number of candidates running for the European Parliament elections are making a pledge to support Fair Trade and, at the same time, to ensure that the needs of marginalised producers and poor workers in the South are reflected across all EU policy areas.
